1. "Break My Soul" by Beyonce – This song literally speaks to my soul! I am in such a transitional period in life, and she's speaking my language. That sample from "Show Me Love" by Robin S is killer! It makes me want to vogue on the treadmill.
2. "Over" by Lucky Daye – I love Lucky Daye! And I think we've all been here with someone at some point. You know damn well you ain't pose to be over there, but they just keep calling you like crack did Pookie in New Jack City. And shout out to Musiq Soulchild for the sample. Perfect!
3. "Good Love" by City Girls feat. Usher – This sample is fiyah! If you don't know "Freak it" by Lathun, go listen right now! And if you know me, anything with my baby daddy Usher is a go! This is definitely a feel-good Summer track, and I love it.
4. "Sticky" by Drake – I hate how this song makes me want to do that hip dance from Tiktok! This song is so catchy, and it makes me wanna move. Yall need to lay off Drake! This album is so summery and fun.
5. "Scarred" by Uncle Luke – This is one of my staple summer songs. It reminds me of hot summers in the 90s, watching The Box, and getting in trouble for trying to dance like an Uncle Luke dancer. You're likely to catch me blasting this in my car these days.
6. "Don't Stop Your Love” by Keith Sweat – I’ve always liked this song. I went to one of his concerts recently, and this has been in my head ever since. I’m not mad at it, though!
7. “Never Be” by Jayye Michael – If you don’t know, his mama is Coko from SWV. I love watching his Youtube channel! This is his first single, and it is so good! It gives me some 90s vibes, and his vocals definitely are giving. Check it out!
8. “Insane” by Summer Walker – I just can't get over this song. I don't know what it is, but I love it so much. I can't say I listen to a lot of her music, but this one is it.
9. "RIP Young" by Isaiah Rashad – This is a song I stumbled upon when browsing my music app. I really like it, and it be knockin' in the car.
10. "Can't Let You Go" by Stefflon Don, Tiwa Savage, & Rema – It's summertime, so you must dutty wine! The horns in the intro are everything. I really enjoy this song. It makes me want to dance by myself in the sunshine on somebody's beach.
11. "Black Tame" by Topaz Jones – This was a recommendation from someone on Tiktok, and it's quite fabulous. The visual for this song is awesome too. Go take a listen!
12. "Good Life" by Kanye West feat. T-Pain – This is an oldie, but a goodie. I miss this Kanye! He always made me feel good and like I could take over the world. The feel-good aspect here is top-notch.
13. "Take You There" by H.E.R. – She is incredible and one of my favorite artists. This is one of those songs I skipped a lot, but it caught me one day. It melts me and makes me want to take somebody's son there.
14. "Legs" by Eric Bellinger – This was a random find for me, and if you know me, you know why I love this song. I felt like he was singing right to me!
15. Oluwa Ni ( Wemi You) by Reekado Banks – Another dutty wine track! This feels like summertime and just being free. I love the vibe.
